Living To Please Christ

Theme for the Week: SOME PRACTICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF THE NEW CHARACTER IN CHRIST – IV

Reading: 2 Corinthians 5:11-15
_______________________

‭2 Corinthians 5:15 NIV‬
[15] And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

Christ’s love compels us to live differently. When we truly grasp the magnitude of Christ’s sacrifice—that He died for all so that we might live—we are compelled to respond with a life dedicated to pleasing Him.

Our actions, decisions, and even our thoughts should be guided by our desire to honor the One who gave His life for us.

As people transformed by the love of Christ, we are called to surrender our own desires, ambitions, and plans, placing Christ at the center of everything we do, and living not for ourselves, but for Him.
Stay blessed. Shalom.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You. Lord, teach us to live not for ourselves, but for Him who died and rose again for us, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Guidance For Living As Redeemed People

Theme for the Week: SOME PRACTICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF THE NEW CHARACTER IN CHRIST – IV

Reading: Romans 12:1-2
_______________________

‭Romans 12:1 NIV‬
[1] Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

As redeemed people, we are to live out our faith in a way that honours God and reflects our new identity in Christ. Our entire being; our thoughts, actions, and desires, should be offered up to God in worship.

The world operates on principles and values that are often contrary to God’s will. We are called to live differently – to resist the pressures and temptations that seek to mold us into the world's image.

As our minds are renewed, our lives will naturally reflect the new character we have in Christ and we will be able to test and approve God’s will; His good, pleasing, and perfect will.
Halleluyah!

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You. Lord, give us the strength to resist the patterns of this world and the wisdom to renew our minds daily in Your truth, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Right Living

Theme for the Week: SOME PRACTICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF THE NEW CHARACTER IN CHRIST – IV

Reading: Romans 13:8-10
_______________________

‭Romans 13:8 NIV‬
[8] Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.

Right living is fundamentally rooted in love – love for God and love for others. It is so because love is a greater obligation with a perpetual debt that is never fully paid off.

When we love our neighbors as ourselves, we naturally avoid actions that would harm them.

Love is the guiding principle that encompasses and surpasses all other commandments. It is the heart of right living, so let us live and walk in it.
Halleluyah!

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You. Lord, fill our hearts with Your love, and let it overflow in our actions and relationships, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Living The New Life

Theme for the Week: SOME PRACTICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF THE NEW CHARACTER IN CHRIST – IV

Reading: Colossians 3:12-15
_______________________

‭Colossians 3:12 NIV‬
[12] Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Paul reminds us that we are God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved. Knowing that we are loved and set apart by God motivates us to live in a way that reflects His character.

Also, he calls us to consciously choose to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, embodying these virtues in love through the Holy Spirit.

By living the new life in Christ, adorned with these virtues, we reflect the transformative power of the Gospel and become a light to the world.
Shalom.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You. Lord, help us to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Following Christ's Example Of Love

Theme for the Week: SOME PRACTICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF THE NEW CHARACTER IN CHRIST – IV

Reading: Ephesians 5:1-2
_______________________

‭Ephesians 5:2 NIV‬
[2] and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Walking in love is not a one-time act but a continuous, daily practice. It involves living a life characterized by love in all our interactions, decisions, and attitudes.

This love is not based on emotions or circumstances but is a deliberate choice to act in the best interests of others, even when it is difficult.

Christ's love was sacrificial, selfless, and unconditional. Thus, let our love be marked by generosity and a willingness to sacrifice.
Selah.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You. Lord, empower us to love others as Christ loved us, with a sacrificial and selfless love, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Do Not Let Sin Control You

Theme for the Week: SOME PRACTICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF THE NEW CHARACTER IN CHRIST – III

Reading: Romans 6:12-14
_______________________

‭Romans 6:12 NIV‬
[12] Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.

Sin seeks to control and dominate, leading us to obey its evil desires.

Our bodies and our entire beings are meant to glorify God. We must not allow any part of us—whether our minds, our hands, our mouths, or our feet—to be used for sinful purposes.

By not allowing sin to control us and by offering ourselves as instruments of righteousness, we manifest our new character in Christ.
Halleluyah!

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You. Lord, strengthen us to resist sin and to live righteously, offering every part of ourselves to You, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Get Rid Of All Malicious Behaviour

Theme for the Week: SOME PRACTICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF THE NEW CHARACTER IN CHRIST – III

Reading: 1 Peter 2:1-3
_______________________

‭1 Peter 2:1 NIV‬
[1] Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.

The apostle Peter provides clear instructions on how we should live as believers who have experienced the goodness of the Lord.

Malice refers to a desire to harm others, while deceit involves dishonesty and trickery. Hypocrisy is the act of pretending to be something we are not, envy is a feeling of discontent and resentment toward others, and slander involves speaking ill of others.

We must actively reject these behaviours, craving pure spiritual milk to nourish our souls to live in truth, sincerity, contentment and edification, helping us grow in our salvation.
Stay blessed.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we thank You. Lord, give us a deep hunger for Your Word, so that we may grow in our salvation and reflect Your character, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Throw Off Your Old, Evil Nature

Theme for the Week: SOME PRACTICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF THE NEW CHARACTER IN CHRIST – III

Reading: Ephesians 4:20-24
_______________________

‭Ephesians 4:22 NIV‬
[22] You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;

Our old way of life is incompatible with our new identity in Christ. The "old self" is characterized by deceitful desires that lead to corruption and separation from God.

To be made new in the attitude of our mind requires a fundamental change in our thinking, aligning our minds with the truth of God's Word.

As followers of Christ, we must recognize the futility of our former ways and commit to leaving them behind. Selah.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You. Lord, empower us to put on the new self, created to be like You in true righteousness and holiness, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Put To Death The Sinful Things In You

Theme for the Week: SOME PRACTICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF THE NEW CHARACTER IN CHRIST – III

Reading: Colossians 3:5-12
_______________________

‭Colossians 3:5 NIV‬
[5] Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

Today's passage calls us to a radical transformation, urging us to put to death the sinful behaviors that were part of our old life and to embrace our new identity in Christ.

Sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, greed, anger, malice, and filthy language are all aspects of our old nature that must be eradicated. These sins become idols in us, taking God's rightful place in our lives.

By putting to death the sinful things in us, we reflect our new character in Christ and live in a way that honors Him.
Stay blessed.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You. Lord, help us to put to death the sinful things within us and to embrace our new identity in You, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Living The New Life

Theme for the Week: SOME PRACTICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF THE NEW CHARACTER IN CHRIST – III

Reading: Colossians 3:1-4
_______________________

‭Colossians 3:1 NIV‬
[1] Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

Having been raised with Christ, we are no longer bound by our old ways but are invited to live a life that reflects our heavenly identity.

Our priorities and affections should, therefore, be aligned with the values of God's kingdom rather than the fleeting desires of this world.

By focusing our minds on heavenly things, we cultivate a mindset that is in tune with God's purposes and promises.
Shalom.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for raising us to new life with Christ. Strengthen us to live out our new identity in Christ, pursuing holiness and reflecting Your love, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Love In Action

Theme for the Week: SOME PRACTICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF THE NEW CHARACTER IN CHRIST – II

Reading: 1 John 3:18
_______________________

‭1 John 3:18 NIV‬
[18] Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

True Christian love is not just spoken but demonstrated in truth. It is easy to say we love others, but the real test of love is in our actions.

Jesus modeled this perfectly by not only preaching about love but also by laying down His life for us. Our acts of love should be sincere and not done out of obligation or for show.

Beloved friend, we are called to show our love through selfless deeds and genuine care for others. As followers of Christ, our love should be active, genuine, and visible in our daily lives.
Stay blessed. Shalom.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You. Lord, fill our hearts with compassion and guide us to serve others selflessly and sincerely, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Do Not Be Like Judas – II

Theme for the Week: SOME PRACTICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF THE NEW CHARACTER IN CHRIST – II

Reading: Luke 22:47-48
_______________________

‭Luke 22:48 NIV‬
[48] but Jesus asked him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”

This passage poignantly captures the depth of Judas' betrayal. A kiss, typically a sign of affection and friendship, was used by Judas to betray Jesus.

Outwardly, Judas appeared to be a devoted disciple, but inwardly, his heart was far from Jesus — an act of hypocrisy.

As followers of Christ, we must strive for authenticity in our faith. We must ensure that our loyalty remains steadfastly anchored in Christ, regardless of the temptations or challenges we face.
Stay blessed.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the lessons from the life of Judas. Help us to guard against hypocrisy and remain authentic in our faith, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Do Not Be Like Judas — I

Theme for the Week: SOME PRACTICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF THE NEW CHARACTER IN CHRIST – I

Reading: Matthew 26:14-16
_______________________

‭Matthew 26:16 NIV‬
[16] From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over.

Judas Iscariot's betrayal of Jesus is one of the most tragic events in the Gospels.

It serves as a powerful warning to all believers about the dangers of greed, disloyalty, misplaced priorities and allowing the love of worldly gain to overshadow our devotion to Christ.

By rejecting the path of Judas and embracing a life of loyalty, integrity, and devotion to Christ Jesus, we manifest our new character in Him.
Shalom.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You. Lord, help us to guard our hearts against greed and misplaced priorities, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Do Not Be Like Cain

Theme for the Week: SOME PRACTICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF THE NEW CHARACTER IN CHRIST – II

Reading: 1 John 3:11-12
_______________________

‭1 John 3:12 NIV‬
[12] Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous.

This passage calls us to a life marked by love and righteousness.
Love is the defining characteristic of a true believer and a direct reflection of our new identity in Christ.

"Do not be like Cain" serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of allowing evil and hatred to take root in our hearts.

As believers, we must guard our hearts against such destructive emotions, recognizing that they are contrary to the nature of Christ.
Stay blessed.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You. Lord, transform us by Your Spirit, that we may love one another genuinely and live lives marked by righteousness, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Obedience To God's Word

Theme for the Week: SOME PRACTICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF THE NEW CHARACTER IN CHRIST – II

Reading: John 2:7-8
_______________________

‭John 2:7 NIV‬
[7] Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim.

At the wedding in Cana, Jesus instructed the servants to fill jars with water and then draw some out to take to the master of the banquet.

Despite the seemingly unconventional instructions, the servants obeyed without hesitation, resulting in Jesus performing His first miracle – turning water into wine.

Obedience to God's word requires trust that involves immediate and complete action, leading to transformation and blessings, just as the servants at Cana witnessed a miracle.
Halleluyah!

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You. Lord, give us the courage and strength to obey, knowing that Your plans for us are good, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Do Not Steal

Theme for the Week: SOME PRACTICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF THE NEW CHARACTER IN CHRIST – II

Reading: Exodus 20:15
_______________________

‭Exodus 20:15 NIV‬
[15] “You shall not steal.

This commandment, simple and direct, calls us to a life of integrity and respect for others.

As followers of Christ, adhering to this commandment goes beyond merely avoiding theft; it involves cultivating a heart of honesty, contentment, and respect for others' property and well-being.

Instead of taking from others, we are called to give and share what we have. Let us look for opportunities to give and share with others, reflecting God's love and care.
Shalom.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You. Lord, help us to honour others' possessions and live with honesty and commitment, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Put On Clothing Befitting Godliness

Theme for the Week: SOME PRACTICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF THE NEW CHARACTER IN CHRIST – I

Reading: Colossians 3:12-14
_______________________

‭Colossians 3:13 NIV‬
[13] Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Paul calls us to "clothe" ourselves with virtues like compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, virtues that reflect our new identity in Christ. .

Just as clothing is essential to our daily lives, these godly attributes should be evident in everything we do.

By relying on the Holy Spirit, we can embody these virtues and reflect Christ's character in our daily lives.
Shalom.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You. Lord, teach us to bear with each other, forgive as You have forgiven us, and above all, to love with the love of Christ, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Speak Truthfully

Theme for the Week: SOME PRACTICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF THE NEW CHARACTER IN CHRIST – I

Reading: Ephesians 4:15,25

[25] Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.

Today's scripture passages emphasize the importance of honesty in communication, integrity in actions, and truth spoken with love.

By living out these principles, we build trust and unity within the body of Christ.

Empowered by the Holy Spirit, our commitment to truthfulness serves as a powerful testimony to the transformative work of Christ. As followers of Christ, we are called to speak truthfully, reflecting His character in our daily lives.

You Shall Not Bear False Testimony

Theme for the Week: SOME PRACTICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF THE NEW CHARACTER IN CHRIST – I

Reading: Deuteronomy 5:20
_______________________

‭Deuteronomy 5:20 NIV‬
[20] “You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

Bearing false testimony is a serious offense because it undermines trust, damages reputations, and distorts justice. As new creations in Christ, our commitment to truth is paramount.

In our daily interactions, we must be mindful to speak truthfully and avoid any form of deceit.

When there is pressure to conform to falsehood for personal gain or out of fear of reprisal rely on the Holy Spirit for strength and remember that our ultimate allegiance is to God, who is Truth.
Stay blessed.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You. Lord, fill us with the truth, in Jesus' name. Amen.
