He Is Slow To Anger But Abounds In Mercy

Theme for the Week: JUSTIFIED THROUGH GRACE

Reading: Nehemiah 9:15-17
_______________________

Nehemiah 9:17 (NIV)
They refused to listen and failed to remember the miracles you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and in their rebellion appointed a leader in order to return to their slavery. But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert them,

Not a day goes by without God supplying what we need. He equips us in every way possible to live for the days ahead, but we turn to forget so soon and go wayward. Our quest to fulfill our wants in no time makes us go back to our old selves. We have become arrogant and stiff-necked.

However, in all these, God is forgiving, gracious and compassionate. He has proved Himself merciful and full of love. He does not quickly get angry at us due to our transgressions, but He gives us time to repent and come back to Him.

Beloved friend, let us not think of God's love and slowness to anger as a weakness. Let us turn to Him, so that in these grace period, we may be justified through grace.
Shalom.

Let's Pray:
Almighty Father, to You be all blessing and praise. In Your anger, Lord, show us mercy, in Jesus' name. Amen._

God Forgives All Types Of Sin

Theme for the Week: JUSTIFIED THROUGH GRACE

Reading: Isaiah 1:18-20
_______________________

Isaiah 1:18(NIV)
“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.

There are many people who have the notion that some sin cannot be forgiven by God, but today's passage makes us understand that no matter the intense of your sin, it can be forgiven.

Are your sins like scarlet? Settle the matter with God! Are they red as crimson, so deep that looking at it scares you? Reason with the Lord God!

God is ever ready to reason together with you in order that the matter would be settled; what about you? If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land; so do not rebel.

God wants to hear it from you just as it is, so speak out boldly, no matter the nature of your sin, before the throne of God; He will not raise judgement, but will show mercy because of the grace He has made available in Christ Jesus.
Stay blessed.

Let's Pray:
Merciful Father, You show mercy to all people. Lord GOD, we come to You with our poor souls deep in sin, believing that You will wash and clean us to be as the snow and the wool. We stand on Your Word and renounce every evil deed before You; justify us through the grace in Jesus Christ. Amen.

Is Your Name In The Book Of Life?

Theme for the Week: THE WHOLE WORLD STANDS CONDEMNED

Reading: Revelation 20:11-15
_______________________

Revelation 20:15 (NIV)
Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

Do you know that life does not end after death here on earth? Do you know that one day everyone will appear before the judgement seat of God? Do you know that one every good and evil deed, whether done privately or publicly, shall be accounted for before God?

Every single life and act of man is recorded in the Books of God for the day of reckoning. It is quite unfortunate that no matter what is written in these books, if you have not your name in the other Book, called the Book Of Life, you have no place with the Lord, but shall face the second death – the Lake of Fire.

Beloved friend, is your name in the Book Of Life? Examine yourself. Look at the fruits your are bearing now and see whether your deeds are good or evil. Place your faith in Christ Jesus, and bear fruits worthy of repentance, so that you can have your name written in the Book of Life.
Stay blessed. Shalom.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, only You deserves all praise and honour. Almighty God, I place my faith in Jesus Christ. Teach me to walk in righteousness, and write my name in the Book of Life; for You, LORD, are my strength. Amen.

Salt And Light

Theme for the Week: THE WHOLE WORLD STANDS CONDEMNED

Reading: Matthew 5:13-16
_______________________

Matthew 5:16 (NIV)
In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

The amount of salt needed in a meal is dependent on the quantity of the meal and to whom that meal is being prepared for. It is very vital to obey principles and instructions on the use of salt; otherwise, your meal will be good for nothing, but to be thrown away.

In same manner, light is needful in the dark. Where there is no light, it becomes very difficult, if not impossible, to see. In the day time, light may be needed in the room, but will be useless outside. This means that you must know when to put on light and where to place it.

The whole world stands condemned, but many Christians who are to salt and light up the world seem unconcerned. It is important to know that our salt and light is individually for a particular people in a particular time.

Do not loose the your saltiness and never cover your light, since they are needed in this world at a time and place you may not know.
Stay blessed.

Let's Pray:
Almighty God, we thank You. Help us, LORD, to know when and where to add salt and to light up, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Produce Fruit In Keeping With Repentance

Theme for the Week: THE WHOLE WORLD STANDS CONDEMNED

Reading: Matthew 3:8-10
_______________________

Matthew 3:8 (NIV)
Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.

Yesterday, we learnt that repentance is not just a feeling, but also an act that must be shown. There will be no repentance without any fruit to prove it. This is why in keeping with repentance, we must produce fruit.

More so, the axe is laid alright to the root of the tree to cut down every tree that bears not good fruit. And not just that, it shall be thrown into fire.

There is no time to spend. Today, if you hear the voice of the Lord, do not harden your heart. Come and reason together with the Lord, no matter your sin. Repent! Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.
Shalom.

Let's Pray:
Almighty God, we thank You. Help us, LORD, to produce fruit in keeping with repentance, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Repent! For The Kingdom Of God Is At Hand

Theme for the Week: THE WHOLE WORLD STANDS CONDEMNED

Reading: Matthew 3:1-2
_______________________

Matthew 3:2 (NKJV)
and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!”

According to the English Dictionary, to repent is to feel and show that you are sorry for something bad or wrong that you have done. Thus, repentance is not just a feeling you experience, it is an act you show.

No wonder the verse 8 of Matthew 3 states it clear that you must bear fruit that befits repentance. The kingdom of God is at hand and to be worthy of God's kingdom, we must feel and show sorry for our wrong deeds.

God accepts the sinner who repents, no matter where you are coming from or whatever you have done. He is loving and forgiving, but He cannot forgive us unless we accept our flaws and bear the fruit that befits repentance. Today is the day; tomorrow might be too late. Repent! For the kingdom of God is at hand.
Stay blessed.

Let's Pray:
Lord God, You are a just God. Have mercy upon us, LORD, according to Your loving kindness and blot away our sins; for we are truly sorry and repent of our sins, through Jesus Christ. Amen.

The Soul That Sins Shall Die

Theme for the Week: THE WHOLE WORLD STANDS CONDEMNED

Reading: Ezekiel 18:1-4
_______________________

Ezekiel 18:4 (NIV)
For every living soul belongs to me, the father as well as the son—both alike belong to me. The soul who sins is the one who will die.

There are certain transgressions that has the tendency to affect generations, but this does not mean the generation is paying for the sin of their fathers.

Everyone shall die for his or her own sin. The choice you make today determines the consequences you will face tomorrow. God is a just God, and so, He deals with us individually.

Although the you can be a victim of the effects of your fathers' sin or that of your children, you do not pay the penalty of their sins for them.

If you choose to follow the wicked path of your fore fathers, you shall be dealt with in same manner, but if you choose righteousness, you shall live. So is the opposite; it is the soul that sins which shall die. Selah.

Let's Pray:
Lord God, You are a just God. Father, help us to choose to follow after righteousness, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

The Lord Was Grieved That He Has Made Man

Theme for the Week: THE WHOLE WORLD STANDS CONDEMNED

Reading: Genesis 6:1-8
_______________________

Genesis 6:6 (NIV)
The Lord was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain.

Many people would wonder why the all powerful and all sufficient Creator could not have known that man will choose to follow after wickedness, that it grieved Him to have created man. God does not change, so why does He repents of making man?

Every good father will grieve when he sees his children go astray. That was the reason for the writer's choice of words, so that humans can comprehend.

The Lord God knew about the fall of man and the path of wickedness that man will choose, by which the whole world stands condemned, but it is in His nature to show mercy. For this reason, Christ was sacrificed before the foundation of the world, and at the appointed time, He became flesh and was crucified for our transgressions.

Dear friend, it is man who changes from time to time, but not God: He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Let us repent of our evil ways and ran back to our Father, who is ever ready to show us love and mercy beyond measure.
Stay blessed.

Let's Pray:
Thank You Jehovah for loving us unconditionally. Father, order our step from the path of wickedness, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Denying God By Actions

Theme for the Week: HYPOCRISY CONDEMNED

Reading: Titus 1:15-16
_______________________

Titus 1:16 (NIV)
They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny Him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.

No one can be separated from their words. You are what you say, but if what you say is not what you do, then hypocrisy is determined in you.

Many people profess Christ and godly living, but their deeds say otherwise. Such people, by their actions have denied God. Jesus Christ said that by their deeds you shall know them. Hypocrisy is when you say one thing and do another.

Dear friend, let your yea be yea, and your nay be nay; for anything beyond that is of the devil. Always confirm your words by your actions. Do not take the path of the hypocrites; for Christ will spew such out of His mouth in the last day.
Stay blessed. Shalom.

Let's Pray:
All praise to, You, o Jehovah. Father, help us to stand by our words that they conform our actions, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Be Careful Not To Practice Your Righteousness Before Men

Theme for the Week: HYPOCRISY CONDEMNED

Reading: Matthew 6:1-4
_______________________

Matthew 6:1 (NIV)
Giving to the Needy
“Be careful not to do your ‘acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

Righteousness must be displayed from a genuine and sincere heart. It must be devoid of the tendency to show off what you have or can do; that is hypocrisy.

Many people give alms because they want to be known and recognized with what they have and can do. They give because they want others to know their wealth. No wonder Jesus said that they already had their reward.

Before men, they will be seen and praised for their good deeds, but before God they are like empty vessels making noise. Let love be the reason you do what you do. Never let fame, name or anything make you to act without love.
Stay blessed.

Let's Pray:
Everlasting God, we bless You. LORD, help us to give according to Your will, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

There Is Nothing That Will Not Be Disclosed

Theme for the Week: HYPOCRISY CONDEMNED

Reading: Luke 12:1-3
_______________________

Luke 12:2 (NIV)
There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.

Before God, everything is bare; nothing is covered up in His presence. Even the deep secret of man cannot be hidden, but made manifest before God by the spirit He placed in man.

You may hide whatever you think is secret from man, but not from God. And if God wants it to be revealed to others, He will do so without even consulting you.

Beloved friend, how is your private life? Is it consistent with that of the public? Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. Never live a double life thinking that no one is aware; there is nothing hidden that will not be made known.
Stay blessed.

Let's Pray:
Gracious Father, we adore You. LORD, help us to live consistently with Your Word even when know one is watching, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Be Doers Of The Word

Theme for the Week: HYPOCRISY CONDEMNED

Reading: Luke 6:46-49
_______________________

Luke 6:49 (NIV)
But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”

Where there is hypocrisy, there is no stand. Due to that, one may think of you as someone of the world and the Word, but this cannot be; you are either of the world or the Word.

To prevent this situation, you must take a stand with either the world or the Word. As Christians, our choice is obviously with the Word. And this can be seen of us if we obey and do according to the word of God.

Be doers of the word, dear brethren, not just the listeners. Do not be like the Pharisees who put loads of burden on others, but they themselves will never touch a load with their hands. Selah.

Let's Pray:
Gracious Father, we adore You. LORD, empower us to abide in Your Word as doers of the Word, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Do Not Deceive Yourself

Theme for the Week: HYPOCRISY CONDEMNED

Reading: Galatians 6:3-6
_______________________

Galatians 6:4 (NIV)
Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else,

One of the easiest ways to fall is to compare yourself with others without putting yourself to test. Anyone who compares themselves to others would want to live to please others.

When you put yourself to test, you challenge yourself to bringing the best in you. With that, you can know who you are and begin to better yourself by living at your pace.

Dear friend, do not deceive yourself by living to the standard of others. Be not hypocrite, but be sincere to yourself. Challenge your own self, not others and you shall bring out the best in you.
Shalom.

Let's Pray:
Almighty God, we thank You. Father, help us bring out the best in us by putting our own selves to test, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Do Not Use Your Freedom As Cover-up For Evil

Theme for the Week: HYPOCRISY CONDEMNED

Reading: I Peter 2:15-17
_______________________

I Peter 2:16 (NIV)
Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God.

We live in a society where law is only applicable to the poor. By virtue of position, evildoers cannot be brought to book. Fact has replace truth, so evil keeps rising in our land everyday.

When a rich person goes against the law, it is easy to avert the consequences; but the poor is always punished for their evil. Since you got that position, how many justices have you obstructed?

Many Christians use their freedom as cover-up for evil. Are you one of them? Although we are at liberty to doing anything, we must do what glorify our Father in Heaven.
Stay blessed.

Let's Pray:
Almighty God, we thank You. Father, help us to use our freedom to serve Your purpose, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Jews and Gentiles Alike Are Under The Power of Sin

Theme for the Week: NO ONE IS RIGHTEOUS

Reading: Romans 3:9-12
_______________________

Romans 3:9 (KJV)
What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

Whether Jew or Gentile, every person was created in the image of God. This means that God values everyone, not just a few like many think. Both Jews and Gentiles are of great value to God.

The fall of man affect every human race of life. Thus, sin has its power over all men. Sin does not care to know whether you are a Jew or Gentile: it will dominate you if you submit to it.

Jesus Christ is the only way God has provided to both Jews and Gentiles alike to overcome the power of sin. In Christ, God redeems and offers us forgiveness, so that He can reconcile us back to Himself. Selah.

Let's Pray:
Blessed Father, we thank You. Mighty God, we accept Your offer of forgiveness through Jesus Christ, and we pray that You empower us to overcome the power of sin. Amen.

People Have No Excuse

Theme for the Week: NO ONE IS RIGHTEOUS

Reading: Romans 1:18-20
_______________________

Romans 1:2 (KJV)
For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

No human being can claim not to know about God. Even the atheist cannot, because they know about God from nature, but do not want to accept the truth that there is God.

Although the essence of God in nature was corrupted during the fall of Adam, nature still speaks of His power and might. However, men did not want to submit to the power and might of God, so they made for themselves gods that can submit to them. This is the truth that no man can deny.

Why then do we spread the word of God, if everyone knows about God?
Knowing God exists is not enough without learning that God is loving, merciful and forgiving. People must learn of Jesus Christ, and  also know about the consequences of rejecting God and walking in sin.

Judgement will come on everyone, which is why Jesus gave us a great commission to make disciples of all nations telling of the love of God to all men, because people have no excuse to reject God.
Hallelujah!

Let's Pray:
Mighty God, thank You for revealing Yourself to us through nature. Father help us to reach as many people as we can with Your love; for no one has an excuse before You in the end time. Amen.

No One Is Righteous

Theme for the Week: NO ONE IS RIGHTEOUS

Reading: Psalm 53:1-3
_______________________

Psalm 53:3 (KJV)
Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; There is none that doeth good, no, not one.

When people want to cover their sin, they reject God in anyway possible. They continue in their filthiness, since they now believe there is no Judge to bring judgement on them.

The atheist and the like may be highly learned, but they are fools not because they lack knowledge, but because they reject God. Righteousness is a gift from God which He imputes freely on man to conform His nature.

By turning back on God, sin is inevitable. When that happens, you lack the strength to over sin, thus everything you do become filthy. Do not reject God at any time; He is the source of your righteousness.
Stay blessed.

Let's Pray:
Merciful Father, we worship You. LORD God, we acknowledge our sins, for they are ever before You. Have mercy on us in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Sinful At Birth

Theme for the Week: NO ONE IS RIGHTEOUS

Reading: Psalm 51:1-5
_______________________

Psalm 51:5 (NIV)
Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

Due to the Adamic sin, sin has reigned from generation to generation. Everyone born after the manner of man and woman, no matter where you are from, inherits the Adamic sin.

This is why David said that he was conceived in sin. From birth, no one is righteous until you come to the saving grace in Jesus Christ. When you accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, God imputes His righteousness on you.

Dear friend, it is only in Jesus Christ that we are saved from the darkness full of sin into His marvelous light full of righteousness. If you have not accepted Jesus into your life, hearken unto this herald and come to Jesus now; tomorrow might be late.
Shalom.

Let's Pray:
Merciful Father, we worship You. LORD God, we acknowledge our sins, for they are ever before You. Have mercy on us in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Wickedness In The Heart Of Human Beings

Theme for the Week: NO ONE IS RIGHTEOUS

Reading: Genesis 6:5-7
_______________________

Genesis 6:5 (KJV)
And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

There is no doubt that evil dwells in the heart of man continually. Two people will be working at a place and due to position, one would not mine to sabotage the other in anyway possible for him.

Evil has grown in the heart of men that anything available to them can be used to wrought wickedness. No one is righteous.

Many people seem to be good, having the form of godliness, but denying the power thereof. This can be said of our generation today also, and it is our duty as people of the light to put on Christ and practice holy living.
Stay blessed.

Let's Pray:
Most Gracious Father, we thank You. LORD God, fill us with Your love, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

No One Is Righteous

Theme for the Week: NO ONE IS RIGHTEOUS

Reading: Romans 2:1-16
_______________________

Romans 2:3 (NIV)
So when you, a mere human being, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment?

In the previous weeks, we studied humankind's rejection of the knowledge of God and its consequences. This week, we shall know that everyone was once a victim of sin.

It is very easy to be judgemental when you see people engage in fornication, idolatry and stealing. However, many are silent on the issue of gossip and lies.

In today's passage, Apostle Paul is remembering us of Jesus' words in Matthew 7:1-5. We cannot raise judgement on people, because we have come to know the truth since we were once like them. Moreover, it is not enough to know the truth if we obey not the truth.

If you cannot apply the truth to yourself, why do you want to force them on others? Therefore, let us hold on to the words of Jesus in Matthew 7:5 which says; _"You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye;"_ for no one is righteous. Selah.

Let's Pray:
Most Gracious Father, we thank You. LORD God, help us to apply the truth in our lives, knowing that Your judgement is in accordance with the truth only. Amen.

Humankind Has Rejected The Light

Theme for the Week: CONSEQUENCES OF HUMANKIND'S REJECTION OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD

Reading: John 3:16-21
_______________________

John 3:19 (NIV)
This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

The reason why Christianity is attacked everyday is because it reveals every evil deed of the world. Unfortunately, many people now hide in the shadows of Christianity to do evil. Glory be to God that He shall bring everything in the light.

Sometimes, the reason why people oppose you whether in the home, work or even church, is because they see the true light of God in the gospel of Christ in you; thus they fear that when you get close to them, they will be exposed of their evil deeds.

Nevertheless, God is not mocked. You can never hide in the darkness. One day, God's true light will illuminate everything, and anything hidden in even the thickest darkness shall be revealed.

Brethren, don't wait till that moment to come upon you like the thief. Come to the light today by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and you shall live forever in the light without fear.
Stay blessed. Shalom.

Let's Pray:
Most blessed, most glorious, Your great name we praise. Father, draw all men unto Your light in Jesus Christ. Amen.

Godlessness in the Last Days

Theme for the Week: CONSEQUENCES OF HUMANKIND'S REJECTION OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD

Reading: 2 Timothy 3:1-7
_______________________

2 Timothy 3:2 (TLB)
For people will love only themselves and their money; they will be proud and boastful, sneering at God, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful to them, and thoroughly bad.

We see many people in the Church today than ever was. However, godlessness is on the rise each and everyday. Most people have hidden behind the curtains of Christianity to wrought all sorts of evil deeds.

The Last Days began after the resurrection of Jesus Christ and will continue until His return. Going to church, learning Christian doctrine without inward repentance and conviction to practice them amounts to nothing. It is very vital to look beyond the first appearance and impression of such people; for their evil deeds will disclose them.

Let it not be seen that Christ will not return, looking at the time the Last Days began. Knowing that no man was able to live from Jesus' day until now is a prove that death is sure, and so is the judgement against sin.

Check your life, my dear believer, to see whether any of these godlessness is within you, and repent immediately; for although you may know your date of birth, you never know when you will die.
Stay blessed.

Let's Pray:
Immortal, Invisible Jehovah, we adore You. Father, may You keep our lives in check by Your Spirit. Amen.

God's Wrath Against Evil Deeds

Theme for the Week: CONSEQUENCES OF HUMANKIND'S REJECTION OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD

Reading: Colossians 3:1-11
_______________________

Colossians 3:5-6 (NIV)
⁵Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.
⁶Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.

Evil shall not prevail forever. It shall be met by the wrath of God. Although God's is merciful and slow to anger, He will surely bring every evil deed into judgement.

Never think that you can hide behind the grace of God forever. Yes, God's faithfulness never comes to an end and that His steadfast love never ceases, continuing in your evil deeds will gradually draw you away from fellowshipping with Him to the point where you may deny His grace.

Brethren, it is high time we let go of every weight and sin that clings so close, and hold on to the grace of God given us in Christ Jesus; for the wrath of God will surely upon all evil doers.
Stay blessed.

Let's Pray:
You are righteous and just in all Your doings, o Jehovah. Father, in Your anger, please, remember mercy and show us grace through Jesus Christ, lest we be consumed by wine of Your wrath. Amen.

A Message of Divine Judgement

Theme for the Week: CONSEQUENCES OF HUMANKIND'S REJECTION OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD

Reading: Jeremiah 25:8-16
_______________________

Jeremiah 25:15 (NIV)
The Cup of God’s Wrath
This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, said to me: “Take from my hand this cup filled with the wine of my wrath and make all the nations to whom I send you drink it.

One of the attributes of God is that He is righteous and just. Although these may be seen as two distinct words, they stand as one to describe God. In His righteousness, He loves all men; in His justice, He hates all sin.

The consequences of sin is unbearable. This does not mean God is wicked, but that He is righteous and just. He loves all, but anytime man departs from Him, justice must be served. In the judgement of God, He is right and fair.

Dear friend, the cup of wine of God's wrath is so bitter that it takes away every joy and gladness from your life, to the extent of making one a desolate wasteland.

Let us not reject God in the name of satisfying our desires. If we have, let us run back to Him for mercy; and because of His love, He will show us kindness and bring us back to Himself.
Hallelujah!

Let's Pray:
You are righteous and just in all Your doings, o Jehovah. Father, in Your anger, please, remember mercy and show us grace through Jesus Christ, lest we be consumed by wine of Your wrath. Amen.
