The Holy Spirit, Our Advocate

Theme for the Week: MATURING DISCIPLES SEEK TO BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT AND NOT INTOXICATING DRINKS

Reading: John 16:7-15
_______________________

‭John 16:7 NIV‬
[7] But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you."

The Holy Spirit is not just a comforter but also an advocate who leads us into all truth, convicts the world of sin, and glorifies Christ through us.

Where the world seeks to distract us with temporary pleasures and intoxicating influences, the Holy Spirit empowers us to live holy, disciplined, and purposeful lives. He convicts us when we stray and strengthens us when we are weak.

Through the Holy Spirit, we experience true freedom, not bound by the things of this world, but set free to live as sons and daughters of God.
Halleluyah!

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit, our Advocate, who leads us into all truth. We ask that You would fill us with Your Spirit afresh today, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Maturing Disciples Seek To Be Filled With The Holy Spirit And Not Intoxicating Drinks

Theme for the Week: MATURING DISCIPLES SEEK TO BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT AND NOT INTOXICATING DRINKS

Reading: Ephesians 5:18
_______________________

‭Ephesians 5:18 NIV‬
[18] Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit,

Intoxicating drinks and substances promise temporary relief or joy, but they ultimately lead us down paths of destruction and regret. They cloud our minds, dull our senses, and distance us from the presence of God.

When we are under the influence of such things, we are no longer walking in the wisdom and light of Christ. Our ability to make godly decisions, to love others, and to worship in spirit and truth becomes hindered.

As disciples maturing in Christ, we are called to seek fullness in the Spirit, which brings true freedom, clarity, and life, and not in anything that seeks to control or enslave us.
Stay blessed.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You. Lord, help us to turn away from anything that leads us away from Your will and weakens our walk with You, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Put Off The Old Self And Put On The New Self

Theme for the Week: MATURING DISCIPLES STRIVE TO BE WISE STEWARDS OF TIME

Reading: Ephesians 4:20-24
_______________________

‭Ephesians 4:24 NIV‬
[24] and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

Paul’s exhortation to the Ephesians is clear: our former way of living, the "old self," must be put off for a new self in Christ.

Putting on the new self means embracing the identity we now have in Christ. This new self is marked by righteousness, holiness, and a desire to please God in all things.

Every day is an opportunity to put off the old self and to put on the new; to live out the transformation that Christ has worked in us. Beloved, let us put off the old self with its deceitful desires and put on the new self, created to be like God.
Shalom.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the new life You have given us in Christ. Help us to put off the old self and to embrace the new self, living in true righteousness and holiness, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Be Holy As Children Of God

Theme for the Week: MATURING DISCIPLES STRIVE TO BE WISE STEWARDS OF TIME

Reading: 1 Peter 1:14-16
_______________________

‭1 Peter 1:15 NIV‬
[15] But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do;

Peter’s words speak directly to the heart of discipleship. Before we knew Christ, we lived according to the desires of the world; our actions were shaped by ignorance and sin. But now, as children of God, we are called to live differently.

Holiness is not just something we aspire to; it is a command from God. “Be holy, because I am holy,” is a divine call to reflect the character of God in every area of our lives.

Holiness is about being fully dedicated to God, allowing Him to shape our character, renew our minds, and transform our desires.
Stay blessed.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You. Lord, empower us to resist the desires of the world and to pursue a life of obedience and purity, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Let The Will Of God Be Seen In You

Theme for the Week: MATURING DISCIPLES STRIVE TO BE WISE STEWARDS OF TIME

Reading: 1 Thessalonians 4:1-6
_______________________

‭1 Thessalonians 4:3 NIV‬
[3] It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality;

It is not enough to know God’s will or to approve of it in our hearts; we must live in such a way that others can see the evidence of God’s work in us.

Paul’s message is clear: as disciples, we are called to live in a way that pleases God, reflecting His will in our daily actions and choices.

One of the greatest responsibilities of a maturing disciple is to let the will of God be seen in how we live, how we treat others, and how we steward the time and resources He has given us.
Selah.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for calling us to live according to Your will. Help us to be wise stewards of the time You have given us, using every moment to grow in holiness and to reflect Your character, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Approve The Will Of God

Theme for the Week: MATURING DISCIPLES STRIVE TO BE WISE STEWARDS OF TIME

Reading: Romans 12:1-3
_______________________

‭Romans 12:2 NIV‬
[2] Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Being wise stewards of our time is part of offering ourselves fully to God, acknowledging that our time belongs to Him, and we are to use it in ways that honor and please Him.

The key to approving the will of God, as Paul teaches, is to avoid being conformed to the pattern of this world. The world around us is full of distractions, temptations, and values that do not align with the Kingdom of God.

If we follow the world’s way of thinking, we will waste our time on things that have no eternal value. But if we allow ourselves to be transformed by the renewing of our minds – through prayer, Scripture, and seeking God’s guidance – we will gain the wisdom to discern and approve what is truly God’s will.
Halleluyah!

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your mercy and grace. Help us to live as wise stewards of time, offering our lives as living sacrifices that are holy and pleasing to You, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Your Light Has Come

Theme for the Week: MATURING DISCIPLES DISCERN WHAT IS PLEASING TO GOD AT ALL TIMES

Reading: Isaiah 60:1-5
_______________________

‭Isaiah 60:1 NIV‬
[1] “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.

We live in a world that is often enveloped in spiritual darkness. Isaiah tells us that "darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples," and we can see this in the confusion, pain, and sin that surrounds us.

But the promise is this: the Lord will arise upon you, and His glory will be seen on you, for your light has come. Even in the darkest of times, God’s light shines brightest through His people.

This is why we must discern what pleases Him, so that His glory is reflected in our lives and impacts the world around us. Beloved, your light has come. The glory of God is upon you. Now is the time to arise and let that light shine.
Shalom.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You. Lord, may Your glory shine through us, drawing others to You, so that all may see the beauty of Your truth, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Wake Up And Return To The Lord

Theme for the Week: MATURING DISCIPLES DISCERN WHAT IS PLEASING TO GOD AT ALL TIMES

Reading: Isaiah 52:1-3
_______________________

‭Isaiah 52:1 NIV‬
[1] Awake, awake, Zion, clothe yourself with strength! Put on your garments of splendor, Jerusalem, the holy city. The uncircumcised and defiled will not enter you again.

This passage is a call for God’s people to wake up from spiritual slumber and return to the Lord. The imagery of putting on strength and beautiful garments signifies a restoration of dignity, identity, and holiness.

God’s people are not meant to remain in the dust of defeat and complacency; they are called to rise, to take their rightful place as His redeemed and holy people.

Beloved, the time is now to wake up, to shake off anything that has held us back, and to return to the Lord with renewed devotion. He is calling us to rise, to stand in His strength, and to walk in the holiness that pleases Him.
Stay blessed.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your call to wake up and return to You. Help us to shake off the dust of spiritual slumber and to walk in the strength and holiness You have given us, in Jesus' name. Amen.

The Pain Of Being Away From God

Theme for the Week: MATURING DISCIPLES DISCERN WHAT IS PLEASING TO GOD AT ALL TIMES

Reading: Isaiah 26:16-19
_______________________

‭Isaiah 26:18 NIV‬
[18] We were with child, we writhed in labor, but we gave birth to wind. We have not brought salvation to the earth, and the people of the world have not come to life

When we stray from God's presence, there is a spiritual emptiness that no earthly pleasure can fill, and it is in this pain that we realize our deep need for His grace and mercy.

We may strive, toil, and seek to accomplish much in this world, but without God’s presence and guidance, it feels like "giving birth to wind"—fruitless and hollow.

As maturing disciples, we must come to understand that distancing ourselves from God leads to spiritual barrenness, but drawing near to Him brings life and joy.
Shalom.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You. Lord, bring new life where there has been barrenness, and let us find joy in Your presence once again, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Listen To The Voice Of God

Theme for the Week: MATURING DISCIPLES DISCERN WHAT IS PLEASING TO GOD AT ALL TIMES

Reading: John 5:25-27
_______________________

‭John 5:25 NIV‬
[25] Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.

In a world filled with distractions and competing voices, we must cultivate the ability to hear and heed the voice of our Shepherd.

Listening to the voice of God means more than simply hearing His words—it means responding in obedience. It means allowing His voice to guide our decisions, shape our character, and direct our paths.

In every situation, we should ask ourselves, "What is God saying to me? What would please Him in this moment?" May we be known as a people who are guided by His Word, sensitive to His Spirit, and obedient to His call.
Selah.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of Your Son, whose voice calls us to life and guides us in truth. Help us to listen attentively to Your voice, discerning what is pleasing to You at all times, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Understand The Present Times

Theme for the Week: MATURING DISCIPLES DISCERN WHAT IS PLEASING TO GOD AT ALL TIMES

Reading: Romans 13:11-14
_______________________

‭Romans 13:11 NIV‬
[11] And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.

Paul’s words remind us that time is of the essence. The world around us is in a state of moral and spiritual decline, but as followers of Christ, we are called to be awake and alert.

To "understand the present times" means recognizing that the return of Christ is imminent and that we are called to live in a manner that reflects this reality.

Now is the time to wake up, to be vigilant, and to live with intentionality. The days are short, and the world is watching. Let us therefore be diligent in our pursuit of holiness, understanding the times we live in, and seeking to please God in all we do.
Shalom.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You. Lord, help us to understand the present times with spiritual discernment, so that we might walk wisely and live in a way that pleases You, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Love The Light And Not Darkness

Theme for the Week: MATURING DISCIPLES DISCERN WHAT IS PLEASING TO GOD AT ALL TIMES

Reading: John 3:19-21
_______________________

‭John 3:19 NIV‬
[19] This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

The light represents truth, righteousness, and the presence of God. The darkness, on the other hand, symbolizes sin, deceit, and separation from God.

The challenge before us is to choose the light, to love it, and to walk in it, even when it is difficult or uncomfortable.

Maturing disciples do not shy away from the light. Instead, they welcome it, knowing that in the light there is freedom, healing, and the fullness of life.
Halleluyah.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for sending Your light into the world through Jesus Christ. Help us to love the light and reject the darkness in all its forms, in Jesus' name. Amen.

MATURING DISCIPLES DISCERN WHAT IS PLEASING TO GOD AT ALL TIMES

Theme for the Week: MATURING DISCIPLES DISCERN WHAT IS PLEASING TO GOD AT ALL TIMES

Reading: Ephesians 5:11-14
_______________________

‭Ephesians 5:11 NIV‬
[11] Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

What pleases God, dear friend, is that we live in the light—His light.

This means rejecting the darkness in every form, whether it be sin, complacency, or anything that distances us from His truth.

Maturing disciples are not content with surface-level obedience but seek to understand the heart of God, striving to reflect His character in every aspect of life.
Stay blessed.

Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You. Lord, as we seek to mature in our walk with You, help us to discern what is pleasing in Your sight, in Jesus' name. Amen.
