Theme for the Week: THE TWO FORCES AT WORK IN THE BELIEVER'S LIFE
Reading: Romans 7:14-25
_______________________
Romans 7:23 (NIV)
but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me.
In the life of every believer, there is a battle between the old self, bound by sin and weakness, and the new self, transformed by the grace and power of Christ. This struggle is not unique to Paul; it resonates deeply with believers throughout the ages.
Therefore, let us not be discouraged by the ongoing battle within us. Instead, let us fix our eyes on Jesus Christ, who endured the ultimate struggle on the cross, triumphing over sin and death.
Remember, dear friend, that the battle within us is evidence of our desire to live a life that honours God. It is through this struggle that our faith is refined and our dependence on Him deepens.
May God's strength sustain us, His love encourage us, and His Spirit empower us as we walk this journey of faith.
Blessings!
Let's Pray:
Abba Father, we thank You. O Lord, empower us by Your Spirit to do what is good according to Your will, in Jesus' name. Amen.
