Christ Is The Deliverer

Theme for the Week: THE TWO FORCES AT WORK IN THE BELIEVER'S LIFE

Reading: Romans 7:21-25

Romans 7:25 (NIV)
Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.

In the depths of our souls, we often find ourselves entangled in the struggles of our human nature. We strive to do what is right, yet we are constantly pulled towards what is wrong. It is a battle we fight daily, and at times, it can leave us feeling defeated and burdened.

But let us take solace in the words of the Apostle Paul. He acknowledged the presence of sin dwelling within him, warring against his desire to do good. He cried out in desperation, "Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?"

Yet, Paul did not leave us without hope. In the very next breath, he declared, "Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!"
In these powerful words, Paul reminds us that Christ is the deliverer we desperately need.
Selah.

Let's Pray:
Almighty God, we bless You. Father, we surrender our weaknesses and shortcomings to You, and seek to find hope in You through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
