[4] Still others were saying, “We have had to borrow money to pay the king’s tax on our fields and vineyards.
As Christians, paying taxes is a serious responsibility that reflects our obedience to God’s commands and contributes to the common good.
The story in Nehemiah 5:1-4 reminds us that even in times of financial difficulty, taxes must be seen as a necessary obligation.
While we can advocate for fairness, we are called to fulfill our tax duties faithfully, trusting in God’s provision. By doing so, we honor God and uphold justice in society.

Heavenly Father, we praise You. Lord, help us to faithfully fulfill our obligations, including the payment of taxes, with a heart of integrity and trust in Your provision, in Jesus' name. Amen.
