Theme for the Week: POWER FROM ON HIGH
Reading: Genesis 1:1-2
_______________________
Genesis 1:2 (NIV)
[2] Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
God's Spirit, also known as the Holy Spirit, is not a new phenomenon that occurred on the day of Pentecost in the upper room. He has been right at work since the beginning of time, bringing forth life and order out of formlessness.
The world we inhabit is a testament to God's handiwork, infused with the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. Today, we must find inspiration and awe in the realization that God's Spirit is still at work, bringing order, purpose, and renewal in our lives and in the world.
Let us open our hearts to the leading of God's Spirit, seeking to align ourselves with the divine purposes for creation; that we may be agents of love, justice, and compassion, participating in the ongoing work of God's Spirit to bring forth goodness and wholeness in our lives and in our interactions with others.
May the awareness of God's Spirit at work in creation fill us with gratitude, wonder, and a deep sense of responsibility. May we cherish and care for this gift of creation, recognizing it as a sacred expression of God's love and creativity.
Shalom.
Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we praise You. Holy Spirit, may You hover upon the formlessness within us. in Jesus' name. Amen.
